Blackpool police to appear on Crimewatch

Russell GrantPolice in Blackpool will appear on the BBC One show Crimewatch on Wednesday, appealing for information to trace a man wanted in connection with the robbery at the Royal Bank of Scotland on Talbot Square, Blackpool on Friday 22 August 2008.

43 year-old Russell Dale Grant aka Russell Dale McVicar is known to have links in the North West but is also thought to have links throughout the country and abroad.  He is the son of John McVicar, the notorious armed robber of the 1960s who has published a book and film about his life.

Jack RyderSexy soap star Jack Ryder will break hearts and former preconceptions of Shakespeare in Wales Theatre Company's excitingly modern production of Romeo and Juliet at Blackpool's Grand Theatre from Tuesday 18th November to Saturday 22nd November.

Jack is best known for playing Jamie Mitchell in BBC1’s top soap EastEnders from 1998 to 2002. He got the role when he was spotted at a theatre workshop in London and fast became the show's top teenage heart-throb receiving around 10,000 fan letters every week.

Other television credits include MIT: Murder Investigation Team for ITV, appearing as a contestant on Celebrity Weakest Link and performing as Justin Timberlake on Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes.

Jack also starred in the British film Popcorn which was released in the spring of 2007 and Boy in Darkness for BBC.

Theatre credits include Single Spies, Safari Party and The Play What I Wrote and Jack’s radio credits include Soldier Boy for BBC Radio 4.

Jobs axed at Gaydar

GaydarThe owner of digital radio station Gaydar and social networking site GaydarNation is to axe a quarter of the staff in a response to the economic downturn.

According to insiders, QSoft Consulting is to make five staff redundant out of the 17 who work on the radio station and the four who work on GaydarNation.

Sources said the whole editorial team on GaydarNation have been made redundant and offered the chance to apply for one editorial assistant role, with the social networking site being refocused as purely an entertainment portal.
